Who we are

HitUp (hitup.au) is a community app that helps racquet-sport players find opponents, record matches, and join club competitions. Contact: support@hitup.au.

What we collect

  • Account details — your name, email address, and password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
  • Profile information you choose to add — bio, home suburb, approximate location coordinates, search radius, birth year, and UTR profile ID.
  • Activity — match results, ratings and rating history, challenges, competition entries, club memberships, and reliability events.
  • Messages — chats you exchange with other players, stored so both participants can read them.
  • Device push tokens — if you enable notifications, so we can deliver them.

How we use it

  • Showing you (and you to) nearby players at a similar level — location is used for distance calculations and is never shown as an exact position, only distances and suburbs.
  • Running ratings, matches, competitions, and instant challenges.
  • Sending notifications about activity that involves you.
  • Keeping the community safe: reports you submit are reviewed by us.

We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Who can see what

Other players can see your name, rating, matches played, suburb, distance from them, bio, and UTR profile ID. Your email, exact coordinates, and birth year are never shown to other players (birth year is only used to check competition age limits).

Blocking

Blocking another player hides you from each other across the entire app — search, nearby players, challenges, and messaging.

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account). This removes your profile, ratings, chats, notifications, and personal data. Confirmed match results remain for your past opponents' history, with your identity removed.

Data storage and security

Data is stored on servers we control, protected with industry-standard measures (encrypted transport, hashed passwords, session and token security). Retention lasts only as long as your account exists, except where noted above.
